Terms of Service

Last updated: 26 June 2026

These terms govern your use of Grain, a shared photo roll built for a single event. By creating an event as a host, or by joining one as a guest, you agree to the terms below. This is placeholder text; the finalized legal copy will be dropped in here.

1. The service

Grain provides a shared photo roll for a single event. The host creates the event, sets the reveal time and retention window, and invites guests via a QR code or link. Guests upload photos from their own devices.

2. Eligible use

You must be old enough to enter into a contract in your country to use Grain as a host. Guests join through a host-issued link and do not create accounts. Do not use Grain for anything illegal, abusive, or that violates the rights of others.

3. Content you upload

You keep ownership of the photos you upload. You grant Grain a limited license to store, transform, and serve those photos solely to operate the event you uploaded them to. We do not sell your photos and we do not train models on them.

4. Host responsibilities

The host is the data controller for their event. The host is responsible for telling guests how their photos will be used and for honoring deletion or correction requests from guests.

5. Payments and capacity

Grain is sold per event, with a free tier for small events and paid tiers for larger guest counts. One-time payments are processed by Stripe. Mid-event capacity upgrades are charged at the difference between tiers.

6. Retention and deletion

Each event has a retention window set by the host, 30 days by default. When the window closes, every photo and every guest record for that event is permanently deleted. Guests can also erase their own photos at any time from the event page.

7. Availability and warranty

Grain is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. We do our best to keep the service available and your photos safe, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Keep your own copies of photos you cannot afford to lose.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Grain is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the event in question.

9. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.

10. Contact
