New in Grain
Written messages with substance
The signature line in a paper guestbook fits five words. Grain gives every guest a quiet thousand — paragraph room for the toast they'd never read aloud — opened together when the roll reveals.

No book to pass, no pen that ran out. A note icon sits above the viewfinder. Tap, write, save.
Held until reveal
Like the photos and voices, notes stay sealed until the moment you chose. Everyone reads them together — not three at a time over the bar.
Paper, not chat
Cards in the gallery look like a page, not a feed. Display name, timestamp, a short preview — tap to read the rest.
How it works
Honest to write. Easy to revisit.
- 01
Turn it on when you create the event
A single toggle, off by default. The guestbook surface appears on the capture screen for your guests.
- 02
Guests write from where they are
Up to a thousand characters per note. Saves locally if signal drops — sent the moment the phone reconnects.
- 03
Unseal them together
After reveal, a 'Notes from the night' section appears under the photos. Hosts can remove anything that shouldn't be there.
FAQ
- How long can a note be?
- About a thousand characters — roughly 170 words. Enough for a real paragraph, short enough that a hundred of them stay readable.
- Can guests write without signal?
- Yes. Notes save to the device and deliver the moment the phone is back online.
- Can I remove a note?
- Hosts can remove any note; guests can remove their own. Removed notes are soft-deleted and never re-rendered.
- Does this cost extra?
- No. The Guestbook is part of every paid Grain event. Free events also support it within the same guest limit.
Words, kept where the photos live.
Add the Guestbook to your next Grain event. One toggle — and the day comes back with its sentences intact.
