Voice messages you'll replay for years

Photos hold the look of the day. Voices hold the feeling. Let guests record a short note from where they are — quietly slipped into the same gallery, played back the moment the roll reveals.

From the same QR code

No extra app, no separate link. The capture screen has a microphone tucked beside the shutter. Tap, speak, send.

Held until reveal

Like the photos, voices stay quiet until the moment you chose. They land together — sound and image, all at once.

A keepsake, not a chore

Two minutes is the limit. Short enough to be honest, long enough to mean something. Played back inside the gallery, named to whoever recorded it.

How it works

Quiet to record. Loud to remember.

  1. 01

Turn it on when you create the event

A single toggle. Off by default — voice messages should be a deliberate choice.

  2. 02

Guests record from the capture screen

Same QR code, same name. The recorder shows a live timer and a 'send' step so nothing goes out by accident.

  3. 03

Play them back from the gallery

After reveal, a 'Voice messages' section appears under the photos. Tap to listen. Hosts can remove anything that shouldn't be there.

FAQ

How long can a voice message be?
Up to two minutes. Long enough for a real toast, short enough that hundreds of them won't drown out the gallery.
When can guests hear them?
Only after the roll reveals. The same gating that protects the photo surprise protects the voices.
Can I delete a voice message?
Hosts can remove any message; guests can remove their own. Everything else is gated by RLS in the database.
Does this cost extra?
No. Voice messages are part of every paid Grain event. Free events also support voice — capped at the same guest limit as photos.

Voices, kept where the photos live.

Enable voice messages on your next Grain event. One toggle, and the day comes back with sound.
