CAPTURE, NOT UPLOAD
Most of these tools collect photos. Grain takes them.
The difference sounds small and it changes the whole evening. An upload page waits for guests to remember, open a full camera roll, pick the right shots and send them. Grain hands every guest a camera the moment they scan the code, so the photo is in your gallery the second it is taken. Guests who prefer their own camera roll can still upload, and that path stays open all night.
Scene, Lense and POV Camera also put a camera in the browser. GuestPix, Kululu, WedFrame, WedUploader, Google Photos and WhatsApp rely on guests uploading what they already shot.
A deliberate choice
Why there is no live slideshow in Grain
Some apps show every guest photo on a big screen during the party. We built the opposite on purpose. When photos appear on a screen in real time, guests start curating. The unguarded, funny, real moments stop getting captured, and the couple has already seen everything before the night is even over.
Grain keeps every photo sealed until the reveal. Nobody edits themselves, nobody peeks, and the couple gets to open the whole night together, once, as a gift.
A live wall is entertainment for the party. A sealed reveal is a memory for after it.
