What you earn
Concrete numbers, not percentages in the air
Grain is sold per event. Your commission starts at 25% of what the couple pays and rises to 35% as your referred revenue grows.
Shown in EUR or USD, prices are the same in both. Commission is ledgered in euro and sent through Stripe Connect, and Stripe converts it to your payout currency on arrival at their rate, which includes a conversion fee.

Tiers follow your lifetime referred revenue, the total the couples you referred actually paid, counted once a booking clears the refund window. A new rate applies to future referrals only. Referrals already booked keep the rate they were earned at.

Every partner link automatically carries a discount for the couple who books through it, one more reason for them to use your specific link instead of going to Grain directly.
How it works
Every link starts at a 5% discount, funded entirely by Grain. This is the floor, no partner link is ever without an incentive, whether or not you've touched your dashboard.
Your dashboard also holds a 10% link and a 15% link, both live from day one. Anything above the 5% floor comes out of your own commission, so you are trading a bit of your payout for a stronger reason for that couple to book. Each link's discount is fixed for its lifetime, so you simply share whichever link fits the conversation.
What it costs you
Your commission is still calculated as your current tier's percentage (25%, 30%, or 35%, depending on your lifetime referred revenue) of what the couple actually pays. Here's how it plays out on a €100 package at the 25% entry tier:

Your commission never drops below €0, you'll never owe Grain money for offering a discount.
Why offer more than 5%
If a couple is on the fence, offering 10% or 15% gives you a concrete number to point to when you send your link, without needing to ask us for a special deal. Save it for the referrals that need the extra push, every link already carries the 5% baseline for free.

The short answers
Does this cost anything?
No. Joining is free and there is nothing to maintain.
How do the 25%, 30% and 35% tiers work?
You start at 25%. Once the couples you referred have paid 500 EUR in total, your rate moves to 30%, and above 2,000 EUR it moves to 35%. Only bookings that cleared the refund window count towards that total. The new rate applies to referrals that come in after you cross the threshold. Past referrals keep the rate they were earned at, so nothing you already earned is recalculated.
When do payouts happen?
Monthly, once your referrals clear Grain's refund window and your balance reaches 25 EUR.
How do I get paid?
When you set up your payout method, you are redirected to Stripe, the same payment processor Grain uses to accept payments from couples, to securely enter your bank details. Stripe handles this directly, so Grain never sees or stores your banking information. Once set up, your commission accrues automatically as your referred couples' events happen. Payouts run monthly and land straight in your bank account via Stripe, with a downloadable statement you can use for your own bookkeeping.
I'm not in Europe. Can I still join, and why are amounts shown in euros?
Yes, the affiliate Partner Program is open internationally. Commission is calculated in EUR because that is Grain's base currency, but when you set up payouts you connect your own bank account, in the US, the EU or elsewhere, through Stripe, and your payout is converted to your local currency automatically at the time it is sent. In your dashboard each referral shows the couple's original payment in the currency they paid in alongside your euro commission, so you can always see both.
Can I refer myself?
No. Self referrals are not eligible.
What if a couple I refer gets a refund?
No commission is paid on refunded events. The referral is marked void and nothing else changes for you.
Do I have to offer a discount on my link?
No. Your 5% link is on by default and funded entirely by us, so you can just share it. The 10% and 15% links are there too, live from day one, for when you want extra leverage with a hesitant couple.
How much does raising my discount actually cost me?
See the worked example above: raising from 5% to 10% costs you €5 of commission per €100 of package price, and raising to 15% costs €10. The rest of your commission, and your tier (25/30/35%), stays the same.
Is there a limit to how big a discount I can offer?
You have three permanent links, one each at 5%, 10% and 15%, and nothing above that. Each link's discount is fixed for its lifetime, and the dashboard shows exactly what each one pays you before you share it.
I run a venue or studio and want a custom arrangement — is that possible?
